In the cold winter, around the warm stove, chatting, drinking tea, baking sweet potatoes... This cozy scene has hidden dangers, and the topic of "poisoning by boiling tea around the stove" is often searched. In winter and spring, when non-occupational carbon monoxide poisoning incidents are high, carbon monoxide poisoning can be caused by cooking tea in charcoal stoves, closing Windows and blowing air conditioners. Carbon monoxide is a colorless and odorless harmful gas, also known as the "silent killer", carbon monoxide poisoning can be caused by the product of incomplete combustion of carbon substances through the respiratory tract. For example, the use of coal stove, charcoal fire, earth kang, fire wall and other heating in a poorly ventilated environment; Use improperly installed or unqualified gas or gas hot water heaters; Improper installation, use or poor ventilation of the exhaust equipment of the charcoal hot pot restaurant; Small oil and steam engines are used in small closed garages or underground rooms; Vehicle exhaust emissions or long-term in closed air-conditioned vehicles; Gas leakage occurs in gas stove or gas pipeline.

Wang Jing, director of the emergency Department of Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University, said that carbon monoxide is easy to combine with hemoglobin to form carboxyhemoglobin, which causes hemoglobin to lose its ability and function of carrying oxygen, causing tissue asphyxia, and the clinical manifestations are mainly hypoxia.

"In the event of carbon monoxide poisoning, mild patients will have dizziness, vomiting, nausea, fatigue and other symptoms, and severe patients will have consciousness disorders, coma and even death." Wang Jing reminded that once carbon monoxide poisoning is suspected, all doors and Windows should be opened immediately for ventilation, take the patient to a safe and well-ventilated area, so that the patient is out of the poisoned environment and call the emergency phone immediately

To prevent non-occupational carbon monoxide poisoning, the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention has issued reminders:

● Properly install and use coal stove, charcoal fire and other heating equipment, regularly check the stove, maintain and clean the chimney and wind duct, and keep the chimney and wind duct unblocked. Indoor use of coal stove, carbon fire and other heating equipment, coal to burn, do not smothered. Under meteorological conditions such as low pressure and relatively high relative humidity, try not to use coal stoves, carbon fires and other heating equipment; When eating hot pot at home, it is best not to use coal, charcoal pot, if used, it is best to put in a ventilated hall or keep the doors and Windows open properly for ventilation.

● Gas and gas water heaters need to choose qualified water heaters produced by regular manufacturers. When using, it is necessary to maintain good ventilation, and the bath time should not be too long. Regular maintenance of gas, gas water heater pressure reducing valve and hose, such as problems should be replaced in time. When using gas, gas water heaters, coal stoves, carbon fires and other heating equipment at home, it is best to install carbon monoxide detectors, and regularly check maintenance to ensure the normal operation of the detectors.

● When the vehicle is parked in the garage or basement, do not keep the car engine running; When the car is stopped, do not leave the air conditioner on for a long time, and do not lie in the car with the doors and Windows closed and the air conditioning on. Regularly check the exhaust system of the car to prevent carbon monoxide leakage from the exhaust system. Do not use small oil and gas generators indoors, in garages, basements and other places, but use them outdoors and away from doors and Windows, ventilation and exhaust devices.

● Do not change gas and gas pipeline facilities without permission. When using gas and gas stoves, remember that people are not far away, and strictly prevent the overflow pot from pouring out the stove fire, resulting in gas and gas spilling out, and check whether the stove is completely closed after use. Regular maintenance of gas and gas cooker gas tanks, pressure reducing valves, leather pipes and gas and gas pipelines. When using gas and gas stoves at home, it is best to install carbon monoxide detectors and check and maintain them regularly to ensure the normal operation of the detectors.
